The category « Wines of the Plan de Dieu » regroups the bottles under the controlled label of origin of «Côtes du Rhône Plan de Dieu Villages». The AOC Côtes du Rhône Plan de Dieu Villages stretches over nearly 778 ha. The vineyard is spread over 4 communes: Camaret-sur-Aigues, Jonquières, Travaillan and Violès. Located east of Orange, this vineyard is delimited by two rivers: Aygues and Ouvèze. It was in the Middle Ages that it developed under the influence of the Templars, and soon acquired a certain reputation for the quality of its wine. The climate of this region is Mediterranean, typical of the southern Rhone Valley: marked by mistral, heat, good sunshine and marked rains in spring and late autumn. The land is made up of an alluvial terrace, covered with pebbles that rest on blue clay or on sandstone safres, ensuring in the dryest summers of interesting rise of moisture. The Grenache, the Syrah and the Mourvèdre evolve very well in these flat terroirs, which are fairly poor, and offer colorful wines full of elegance. These wines are round and smooth, with an intense color and a good content in the mouth. Browse the subcategories to orient your searches and use filters to refine the results.
